THE 5 THINGS
YOU NEED TO KNOW

About Drug and Alcohol Treatment
at the Livengrin Foundation

When an individual or family begins to make the challenging decision to seek treatment for alcohol or drugs, there are many questions, and many choices.

There are some basics, however, that should be focused on – no matter what treatment facility you go to, or the reason, be it alcohol, heroin, cocaine, marijuana, meth or prescription drugs.

A Full Line of Addiction Treatment Services
Treatment services should meet the needs of the individual across the complete "continuum of care."  Based on an initial assessment and professional consultation, a patient can enter Livengrin at the appropriate point, from medical detoxification and residential treatment to outpatient and specialized programs.  We don’t have the restrictions imposed on other facilities that, for example, are “outpatient only” or don’t take insurance.  Later, there may be a need for the right connections into “recovery / halfway houses” to facilitate a patient’s re-entry into the community, as well as a strong alumni component that helps the individual “stay connected” to recovery.  You’ll find these services at Livengrin.

Innovation
A well-trained professional staff is always learning about what's new, as well as researching and implementing treatment plans and specialized services that tackle the changing scope of public health challenges.  The Livengrin staff is continually attending – and in many instances, hosting – professional training.  Research by our clinical staff is published nationally.

Affordability
While you can't "put a price tag on health," every family has to do what’s best within the confines of their economic picture.  As you talk to drug and alcohol treatment facilities, find out about rates and how insurance is handled.  Livengrin’s rates compare very favorably with other treatment providers.  We know, because we’ve done the comparisons.  Livengrin works with most insurance and managed-care companies to offer the most cost-effective care possible.

Security
Coming to a treatment center – or bringing a loved one to a facility – is like coming to the hospital.  It can hold a lot of emotion about “what happens next.”  You can be confident that patients at Livengrin are treated as we all would want to be, with dignity and respect.  True, there are schedules and frameworks (and some rules) for patients, to be sure that the best possible treatment can take place in the time available.   But the safety of the individual is paramount, and the family can rest assured that at Livengrin, the patient is in a secure environment.

Accessibility
Family and friends are important to the recovery of a patient, and easy access for visiting and transportation matters a lot.  For people in our metropolitan region, there are seven addiction treatment centers in Bucks, Philadelphia, Lehigh and Montgomery Counties to help you.  Whether you live in Doylestown or Levittown, New Hope or Newtown, Abington or Ambler, Roxborough or Chestnut Hill, Easton or Burlington, Langhorne or Trenton, a Livengrin facility is close by.

Our main residential campus in Bensalem is just outside Philadelphia, close to major air and ground transportation lines, the Pennsylvania Turnpike, and I-95 (connecting to the entire corridor of Boston-New York-Philadelphia-Baltimore-Washington and points south).
